Tired of the Cube Life?

While I was in Argentina I was fortunate enough to reconnect with Cesar Gonzalez who I met briefly at a Twiistup in LA. It’s funny at events how you meet so many people, follow up with a few but you never get to know them or care to. Luckily, I got to get to know Cesar in Argentina and it was an amazing experience. He has been a car salesman, salsa dancer/teacher in Hawaii, CalTech programmer and so much more…

Recently, he has been working on Argentina’s Travel which is ‘the’ guide for anyone visiting Argentina. Anyways, enough flattery. The real point of this post is what Cesar and his equally impressive girl-friend and pro spoken-word poet girl-friend, Gabriela Garcia Medina are doing (that was a lot of un-necessary hyphens). They are biking across the country. For world peace? For their bike store? For…so many reasons we must have to do stuff. No, just for fun. What a cool experience!

I just thought it’s a great Monday story for you to read or wave to Cesar/Gaby biking by you on your way to work. Check out their blog Flee the Cube for more details. Seguro viajes!

Heyyy, nice you hear you wrote about Cesar!!! Actually, I met him the same day I met you. : ) Anyway, the point of the post was another one, biking? I ride my bike since I’m 15 and I go everywhere with it, job, bar, sport club, or any place, I could say the bike is part of myself. Ooohhh, now I understand, the post was about just making stuff for fun, does anybody makes anything without that final purpose?

How cool! That is just the sort of thing that i always dreamed of doing, that is right up there with hitchhiking across Europe on my list of to do things. But i think i’ll just fit a electric motor on my bike for when my legs get tired.

I got an ouchie. Which means we made it all the way to Kentucky but will have to finish next summer =( On the upside, I finally got to sit down at the computer and find out that mi amigo Noah is giving me good press. Muchas gracias!

Hey, once you’re done with that Triathlon, how about joining us next summer for two weeks of 80-mile days?

I always get jealous of people who live such carefree and adventurous lives. I know I value security too much to be able to do what they can do with such ease.
