On topping yourself when you’re 85…

My grandfather had a chat with me once in his later years. He said:

“Alex, when I was a younger man, I decided when I got old I didn’t want to be a burden. So I went out to the beach and buried an anchor. When I got old I would dig up the anchor and take it out with me on the yacht, tie it around myself and spare everyone. But, my dear boy; I can’t lift the bloody thing now!”

I think your perspective on living changes as you get older.

I have acted!!

I have just read Nev’s blog, codename “Giggity”

I have taken it all on board, selected 20 of my email list and sent out a email introducing a new course I am going to roll out in 2018.

I’ve set the structure exactly the same

SIZE 12 font, mmmmmmmmm

I have thrown out a email to see what the response is like.

If all 20 sign up, then thats a cool £3k in my bank account and I have 20 guinea pigs to setup a Facebook Group to build my course around.

FANTASTIC EPISODE guys. Clearly you guys have banter & it makes the interview so fun to listen and learn from. Nevillee mentioned that he has a script (Google Doc) he gives to clients before a seasion and you mentioned a link to it. Could you share please?

Neville’s work week is the vision for my business – consult 2 days/week and write and produce products and content 3 days/week. My son is a computer science major in his junior year at college. I hired him to help me the with back end of my business, installing Convert Player, figuring out how I use Intellifluence, and coding to make my website work. I sent this podcast to him so he understands what he is helping me create and achieve. Thanks.

Seriously one of my favorite podcast episodes ever, so much learned about mindsets, frameworks, & life from you two just rambling excited for part two!
I am a big fan of the Joe Rogan format just two people talking about random topics because you learn way more than forced Q&A and canned answers.

One thing I do like about Neville is his honesty and ability to push aside the bias/ego when he reflects on his own industry. Most of the other successful info marketers, even Ramit Sethi, would be too clouded by selling the product to really be honest and say there is no difference between a $2000 video course and a $5 book (not saying there’s completely NO difference – there IS a video library, structured process, accountability and/or community).

One of the things you can do is giving away free information without asking for it at all. I think it’s all about leverage. Gary Vanynerchuk does this extremely well. In my opinion, when you give enough value people will naturally come to you with money.

It seems that digital products are now very attractive for sellers because you get more money for just effort. But the competition nowadays have become fiercer that it is not enough to do the same thing as the other person is doing. You have to offer something more.

That mindset hasn’t been true for me. I went through 5 guitar teachers before I connected with one.

Neville is a great example. He makes learning copy fun.

Think about your past teachers. Hope this makes sense.
