What do you think is going to happen in the future?
John Arrow — aka the next Elon Musk — thinks about the future EVERY day.
As the cofounder of Mutual Mobile, John loves to experiment with crazy future technologies and “moonshots” to change the world.
If you want to prepare yourself for future jobs, technologies, and businesses… there’s no one better than John to teach you.
John’s career success has been backed by his predictions. Before he turned 30:
Want to position yourself to thrive in the future?
Check out this post and podcast episode below. You’ll learn:
Entrepreneurs are always looking for the next BIG thing.
But most entrepreneurs only look a couple months or a couple years ahead.
John looks decades ahead. He thinks about which technology will be commonplace in 10, 20, 30 years — and how to leverage future technologies to make money.
Here are 3 industries John plans to make $1,000,000,000 from in the next 10 years. 💰💰💰
How can you integrate these ideas in your own business?
Haptics is a fancy word for those vibrations you feel from your FitBit or Apple device. “I don't know why we don't just call them vibrations,” John joked.
Here’s the amazing part: Our brain can interpret haptics the same way that we interpret visual stimuli.
John thinks haptics is one of the big upcoming technologies. He’s experimenting with devices to read your text messages using haptic control.
In other words, you could get a series of vibrations and completely understand what it says.
You wouldn’t need to take your phone out of your pocket.
Think about the implications:
This technology could even help blind people see. You could soon be able to create pictures, images, and movies using haptics.
Here are 3 business ideas for haptics:
I LOVE my Apple AirPods.
When John looks at AirPods, he doesn’t just see a cool set of in-ear headphones. He sees a life-changing platform.
AirPods, and AirPod-like tech, could become a superpower for all humans.
Imagine having an assistant with you all the time. Think of it like Siri… but 1,000x more useful.
For example, a few times where virtual assistants could help:
A couple of days before meeting with John, I’d just finished an epic sci-fi novel.
The idea of living forever felt kinda scary to me. But John truly believes will living forever will come to fruition:
“I know unequivocally that we're going to live forever and that we can take a human consciousness and put it into a computer.”
The process has started, too. Elon Musk’s company Neuralink is working on linking our brains with computers by turning cloud-based AI into an extension of the human brain.
Think about how this changes EVERYTHING (especially business).
When people can fully connect their brains to computers, almost every industry will be reinvented for our matrix-like future.
Today's science fiction could be tomorrow’s reality.
When there are people working on something as big (and seemingly crazy) as eternal life, there’s no shitty excuse that should be stopping you from building a business.
If people live forever, the business world completely changes:
Not everyone reading this is going to make a billion dollars in the haptics, virtual assistant, or eternal life industries.
So how can you make future predictions for yourself?
When John shared his thoughts on the future, I was also curious how he frames what's coming next.
Simple is better, and here’s how John’s simple process works:
“I think really far into the future with what I want. Then, I think about the stepping stones to reach it.”
Don’t overcomplicate things. Think about your industry or areas you’re passionate about. What’s your ideal solution? Even if it’s not yet possible, sit down and brainstorm ideas.
To inspire you, here are my biggest marketing ideas for 2017.
Find an idea in your head, work back to what’s possible now, and GET STARTED.
Let’s say you run a restaurant. What’s the ideal way to get your product to customers?
Don’t limit yourself here. Think as big as possible.
Here’s what you might say:
These aren’t quite possible yet. But, if you think about these ideas as the eventual goals, here’s how you can start today:
Earth-shattering bold moves start with the first step.
I know some of this stuff may seem a little Star Trek-y and futuristic. But over the next decade, tech will change the face of the workforce in some massive ways.
John even predicts that two of the most common jobs in the U.S. will all but disappear in the next eight years:
Drivers of all types will be challenged by self driving cars. Secretaries will struggle against new assistant AI and technologies.
Given the choice, would you rather be watching on the sidelines… or leading the forefront and making money?
New tech will affect us all. Staying on top will be the difference between winning and losing.
Don’t be left behind. 😉
