A week ago I started an Austin Experiences business in 48 hours and generated $6k revenue which I wrote about on AppSumo here.
After it was all over, I was struck by how many great friends I have and how fortunate I am. (Of course, I’ve had my fair share of disappointments and have dealt with depression too.)
Just thinking about all the great people I have in my life, I was hit by an amazing wave of gratitude and appreciation.

With our new start-up we have tried so many different ways to monetize. Eventually, I asked my friend Rachel if she could pull together top advertisers and we could have a Community Next::Monetize.
Some great companies are going to be there: Google, Yahoo!, Myspace, Imeem, Photobucket, Slide, RockYou, Flixster and more…
Also, I am looking forward to talks from Offerpal (we use them), Userplane (awesomeness) and Andrew Chen (my personal idol).

Facebook spammed all the Harvard email lists to get the first 2,000 users in a day.

Karen and I thought it would be fun to hold the Silicon Valley Chess Tournament to see which startup, venture capitalist and individual is the best in the Valley. The catch is that it’s on cinco de mayo so that means cerveza time.

With the magical coordination of Andrew Chen, Johnny Lam & Karen Hartline the 3rd Community Next is this weekend. We are nearly sold out (3 tickets left) for the Friday developer day (most of top 100 Facebook developers attending + $5,000 iron code off) and Saturday with tons of great platform discussions to come.
