Let’s Tattoo my Body. Ads on my blog?

Okay, it’s not exactly what you think. I love tattoos but how would you feel if I offered $50 for you to have a tattoo of my face on your arm. Any takers? This is what advertising on your blog is about.

Someone emailed me this

I’m at that point where I haven’t blogged for 2 months (got married, moved to the UK), and I can’t get myself to write the first post…do you have any prescription for that dr kagan?

I’m no doctor, luckily my brother is:) Anyways, what do you do when you are tired of blogging? I put ads on okdork a few months ago. And now I’m making a whopping $1 a day or so. That is about 5 burritos a month.

Personally, it won’t change my content but it’s a nice reward outside of meeting new people that I get. Also, it encourages me to post more often and somewhat try to promote my blog more. I still don’t:) The unfortunate thing is I don’t get to control what ads appear on my blog. For example, this image on Andrew Chen’s blog supporting John McCain. I am not sure he supports him but a new visitor might get that impression. Ads are a good thing to motivate me but do have this downside.

What do you do when you are tired / unmotivated to blog? (ads, outsource, stop blogging, etc..)

I pretend as though my readership has doubled. It’s so much more motivating to think that there are two people out there waiting to read my thoughts… (:

    Hey Noah!

Sorry to advertise on your blog ;-)

Just fyi…AD Village gives 80-100% of ad revenue back to bloggers and gives 100% control over the ads displayed on your blog. Maybe I’ll be able to get you 5x what you’re currently getting! (We just launched at BlogWorld)

Hope to see you soon in Austin!

    Marissa,

    That would be like… 25 burritos a month! o.o

    Noah,

When I don’t feel like blogging, I just don’t blog. If you’re passionate about it when you sit down to write, it’s not going to come out good. Instead, save some posts in queue for the future when you’re uninspired. Write more than one when you’re red hot and keep them on hand for later. That’s what a lot of the top bloggers do from what I understand, and it certainly makes sense, especially if you make a living off of being a passionate blogger.

Correction: If you’re -not- passionate about it.

Good grief that is some really extreme tattooing! I wonder how a person can live with something like that day in and day out!

Agree with you, Nicole. Just can’t imagine normal life with such tattoos. It is horrible I think.
