I am sure many of you are familiar with cock blocking. Urban dictionay says
“To hinder, by whatever means, the chances of another male from getting a sexual encounter with a female. “

Most bars let girls in for free and guys have to pay. Makes sense. Girls bring guys to the bar. However, guys always feel like crap.
A cool marketing way to make the guys happy that I experienced was that I had to pay a cover but I got a free drink ticket for paying while the girls just entered for free. That’s awesome. Great marketing, simple and everyone wins.
Why do people just accept the way it is? This bar made it better for everyone.

1. too many people don’t think outside of the box.
2. they get comfortable with what they are familiar with
3. how many people think of ways to make others happy…often, they just want to make themselves happy
4. it’s a risk to spend money (free drinks) to make money, but really…you’ve had a great experience and would definitely go back and even take others with you. They spent money for your free drink, but you’re now a fan! Not to mention who drinks just one drink at a bar? You’re almost guaranteed that they’ll buy another drink.
5. if you had shared the bar location, it would be a bonus for your male readers…and your female readers as they’d now know where you hang out

This has been going on in Japan for at least 10 years. When I went to Tokyo and partied it up at bars/clubs, they offered 2 drinks tickets as cover for 20 dollars, not bad. Even better, they convert their clubs to have coffee starting at 5 am. So you can use the tickets for strong good coffee too.

Hey wing man,
Bars don’t really seem like the places that innovate a lot. Those that do are clear leaders and are usually the favorites in the community.
By the way, are you back yet?

Most bars I have been to do provide a cover charge for free drinks once you are inside. It is usually66-75% of the entry charges.
