This is actually a pretty good idea. A common point where a lot of startups fail (or contributed to failure) was lack of professional legal advise. It could be a tempting expense to dismiss early on, but one is better off not playing as their own lawyer (or accountant for that matter)

Agreed Tony. It’ll be a cool event. We have wine sponsors too. Tasty red and white wine. Free for people coming.
Here are a list of reasons to come:
- meet some really awesome young founders and entrepreneurs in the valley
- free food and wine
- meet 4 of the top law firms in the valley (heller ehrman, wilson sonsini, gunderson and dettmer, ropes and gray)
- talk to michael arrington
- free parking (!)
- maybe even pick a law firm for your startup that night?
- raffle
It’s almost here. Apply now

For a second I thought it was Tony responding to a comment by himself:)

Great idea.
For all of the lawyer jokes floating about, there was a wonderful counterpoint in the Wall Street Journal recently.

A slightly different type of lawyer than the ones you’d be able to meet at this event, but…… lawyers aren’t all bad!

Heh, if I was to start responding to my own comments, I’d need more than a lawyer
Too bad I’m all the way in Toronto, all this startup stuff is fascinating.
