When I was creating Community Next I met Mike Macadaan from AOL who was an instant supporter/evangelist & Bad ass mofo for the event. He said he was tired of sitting on the sidelines and is putting on a great event in Los Angeles:

Event Details

What: Startup Demos, drinking, music, dancing, fun, free stuff, etc…
Who: 300 of the best LA has to offer plus Noah
Why: Noah is demoing Mint, tons of great people and a night of fun
When: May 9, 2007 from 7-midnight at Zanzibar in Santa Monica,CA.

    Actually this sounds like it might be a good time, and it’s walking distance from our office :) Is the idea for it to just be kind of freeform, mingle, relax, listen? Is there a more ‘formal’ part or is everything at Zanzibar?

    You should definitely come out. It is a fun event of some demos and mostly chilling. Everything is at Zanzibar. We can do an extremely formal thing if you want;)

    I was just at Zanzibar last Saturday night, it’s a great club but SUPER small.
