Another problem with the social timeline is the time brackets it’s set up into (Fall, Spring, Summer, Winter).

What about high school classes, which go from September and end in May? It’s much too troublesome to enter in the same class three times just for one year-long class.

Perhaps more reasonable time brackets would be by semester and then the holidays in between?

11th Grade 1st Semester
Winter Holiday
2nd Semester
Summer Holiday, etc. etc.

I just got back from Tahoe so sorry for not responding. I don’t mean for my blog to become a Facebook advertisement but I like writing about stuff related to college and yopo (young professional) markets. This is related and luckily I get to work at Facebook as well:)

Devin, I totally agree with your point of having Facebook figure out the dates but it is much harder than expected. I think taking important dates and presenting it there is a great idea. We will be updating this feature in the future.

I was not all that impressed with this timeline feature. I thought it was good for a couple of minutes and then I got bored with it. That is the same thing that happened with the pulse feature with me.

You better be careful Noah. It almost looks like you are selling out to Facebook. I know this is your new job, but it does look like one big advertisement. I am sure Facebook is trying very hard to compete with Myspace, but I do not think that will happen when you restrict the users.

When will you have the ability for college grads whose e-mail address was deleted by the university after they graduated to have the opportunity to sign up for facebook? I graduated in 2004 and my university removes our school e-mail address after we graduate!
