Tip 1: Reduce incoming Inbox e-mail by diverting Cc’d messages to a personal folder
My assumption is that if I’m only copied on a message, it’s less important than when I’m a primary recipient. Diverting these before they hit my Inbox helps me prioritize and reduces my Inbox by nearly a third. I process e-mail in the Cc folder after I’ve handled my more urgent messages.
Tip 2: Set up a sent log to have a digital trail when you need it
I can quickly resend something—or prove that I really did follow up on that action item in my sent log.
All you have to do is create a new email address in gmail or just BCC yourself on important emails so you can keep track of them. I then created 3 folders: waiting on, immediate & later where I place stuff that needs to be followed up, happen now or in the future. BCCing myself on the emails I place that email in the Waiting on so I can follow up with people in the future.

Good tips, Noah. The first reminds me of a simpler GTD prioritizing method… Happy New Year to you, too.
