Did you know that the #1 favorite college movie is…The Notebook. I would have never guessed that. Are you ever curious what the coolest bands are on the college campus or what the all time fav movie of college students is?
Well now you can with Pulse. It aggregates all the listings for individual campuses and shows what is cool and what is not. Pulse shows 2 different things: 1 is the all time favs on campus and 2 is the latest trends on campus. This is a great tool for students to see what is happening on campus. We also threw in a “Did you know?” sidebar that has really cool info like how many photos were uploaded at your school that day, total # of pokes, how many single girls are looking for a relationship and other fun facts….
Top 10: Berkeley v. Stanford competition
Trends: Life on the Berkeley campus

Feedback is always appreciated. This was the first product I really got to help work on. Yay!

This rocks, I like it. Is this just an aggregate of what people list in their profile?

yea it does 2 things
1- tallies overall totals of what people list in their profiles. accounting for mis-spellings.
2- trends showcases what people are adding/removing from their profiles with the biggest changes.
glad you like it. took longer than you think:)

That’s neat, I like it.
What if you could restrict results to people who you’re friends with? For example, “Top 10 bands that my friends listen to” or “Top 10 movies my friends have seen that I haven’t seen”.

Jakob,
Totally agree with you. I find that data WAY more interseting if it is about what me and my friends like. The problem is the data sorting and organization is difficult on our end. We are working on some backend stuff and improving our search method which might help create that information. Glad you like it. Any ideas….?

I can’t figure out how to see my school’s pulse. I go to harvard (so i feel stupid for not finding it) so I assume we would have one. How do I get there?

Vertical v. Horizontal Trendspotting
Facebook recently launched Pulse, a continually updated digest of campus-specific likes and dislikes. They aren’t positioning it as a “trendspotting” tool per se – and it’s a neat tool for anyone who wants to get an quick…
