Marketing Yopo 2.0
I saw two marketing things that Yopo (young professional) people among others would enjoy and can learn from.
1. The Starbucks Red Cup:

This marketing ploy is getting HUGE press on the blog world and justly so. I think its very creative as TONS of people will say “hey you have a cup on your roof”.

Sixsense, a cool technology where you can meet new people through your cell phone is coordinating a creative real world game in the bay area. With their phone technology you have to run around and ‘meet’ technology celebrities like Russell Beattie, Steve Jobs, Jerry Yang among other people. The more people you meet in Apple stores and other sixsense members the more points you get. The hope is that famous people will talk about the event drawing attention to it. Giving the user more incentive to try out their technology(free iPods for top point getters). Contest runs December 10th through the 16th. One day I will be a technology celebrity:)

Bay Area, Smearea. Ever since I left the bay area 13 years ago I have been waiting for these types of events to spread out to the rest of the country. So far NO JOY! I am so jealous everytime one of these events are run. I sure hope we can get these events into the current century and make them virtual for the rest of us poor joes who do not live there anymore!
