Yopo Interview#1: The New Pulse of Mobile Media
Entrepreneur, David Xue, a 2003 graduate from the University of Washingon, Seattle, is bringing about the new wave of mobile media sharing through his website PixPulse.
Going into school as a computer science major, Xue realized that his efforts could be focused on a less stressful and more exciting calling, aka business. Once he switched majors to business administration, he realized his true calling; “It [business] was cake.”
David Xue has recently created a new business through his media sharing website. He is the founder and CEO for pixpulse.com.
What is PixPulse?

It’s a great new way to instantly share all those pictures you take on your phone. Picture taking with camera phones was becoming obsolete; seeing as there really wasn’t anything to do once the pictures were taken. Xue has created an online album for these mobile photos where all your friends can see what you see when you see it.

Crazy drunk man making a fool of himself at a party and you want to show your friends? Done.
Skanky hot girl with the shortest skirt you’ve ever seen and you’d like to share the vision? Check.
Shot-gun 5 beers and you’d like to show evidence through live straming video? You got it.
500+ people have already discovered the great advantages of using PixPulse, 400 of which are college students.
“My friends would always take so many pictures and they’d never really do much with it. Camera phones can only hold so much memory. I’ve helped create an instant mobile network,” Xue explains.
Future hopes for the site include media distribution and/or creating a media platform for broadcasting your media live.
“There’s only so much you can get out of classes. I probably use less than 5% of what I learned in school,” advises Xue, “truthfully, the best thing to do is to surround yourself with smart and talented people; that’s what I do and that’s a main part of my success thus far.”
Moral of ther story:
1. PixPulse will rock your socks
2. School is stupid
3. Xue’s favorite number is 7
4. Surround yourself with talented people (I’m already booked for the month though, sorry)
5. AND again, school is stupid
oh yeah…
6. PixPulse rocks.

While school may not be the best or most productive use of time, I think many will agree it was one of the best times of our life and I’d glady do undergrad all over again–and yes, that includes putting up with my now famous terrible freshman year roommates.
Cheers~David
