airline magazine marketing & short term airline flights idea

For some reason I am really into the airline sector even thought it is not my major interest. I guess talking with Nick Gray motivates me to think of how to make more money in the airline industry.

Magazine Marketing

Do you read the Alaska Airlines magazine or the Southwest magazine
that talks about their random employees and articles of little
interest? I am guessing you do along with the millions of people who
fly daily. My thought was to have new magazines sponsor airlines so
people can read their magazines. I had People and US in the seat pocket
and read them through the flight back yesterday. I am generally tired
of fogey marketing (fogey = old fogey) where you post billboards or put
in grocery stores or ads on television. Try new things and target new
readers… new free sync magazine similar to cargo. i don’t get anything and you get free issues

Short Term airline flights

While flying back from my companies other site in 30 minutes I realized
this is totally better than driving 2.5 hours by plane. Not every major
company has this luxury but many individuals and smaller companies
would be worth their time and convenience to fly short term routes via
plan. San Francisco to San Jose might be too short but going from San
Jose to Sacramento or to Modesto might be worth it. If the price is
right $20-$40 each way I definitely see a huge demand for people to
travel this way.

Concerns:

1- Enough airspace to fly these little planes in 30min-1 hour flights
2- Oil Prices: With high prices and small airplanes might not be profit feasible to take people aboard.
3- Size of airplane is questionable

There are very light jets now(VLJ’s) costing around 1-2 million USD. They have very low costs. If someone looks at this business really for the long term, they can really charge quite low.

I read an article where a one way trip from Mumbai-Delhi(India) could cost(just costs) around 36,000 Rupees (USD 900) for a plane with 4-6 seats. So if u divide that it would be around USD 150 per person.

I have been looking at them for a while, but do not have the investment capital to start this businesses.

Think about it. Maybe someone else can.
