Welcome Noah | Berkeley

I wanted to review and comment on iventster.com, why? cause i have nothing else better to do=)

goods:
+ aggregate all schol events
+ eventually will have to-do list so you can manage all your personal stuff on the site
+ calendar of non-related school acitivities
+ great way to find out what is going on campus
+ nice to have a portal so everyone knows where to go, saves flyers aka paper
+ nice integration with thefacebook.com importing friends
= side note, thefacebook.com are holding their cocks in their hands for not adding new features and services similar to this which are more useful

negatives:
+ coloring and design are poor
+ weird loading and limited usage initially
+ needs to expand services to be successful which will be hard, should be initial fad
+ no need for certain features like buddy list
+ doubtful about students utilizing web based service to track classes and activities
+ long-tail activity where many people won’t use unless more people are using this for activities and events.

Overall:

A decent idea that is a long-time in the making. Every campus needs a place to find out what is going on. I don’t like advertising based model even though I know it is profitable. I am curious to see how the site will handle the traffic and what new features will be added in the future. I have some of my own ideas about what can be done but I am doing it:) More info on that later.
